Maniax vs Bandits

Bandits vs. Maniax

It is a brand new tier 2 team on the outside. Please remember, when watching the IWFL's Bay Area Bandits, of Fremont, what you get, might not necessarily be what you see.
The tier 2, Modesto Maniax, are in year 2 of IWFL play. This sophmore team, grows by the day, week and month.  The Maniax took a loss this past week to the aforementioned, Bandits.

With the playoff picture becoming clearer in the West, it appears the rival Bandits of Fremont will be waiting again for the Maniax in round one of the playoffs which will take place in the post season.

Aaron Goodwin, Maniax Team Owner, is quick to point out to Maniax followers  "Maniax fans, and family need to remember this when watching the Maniax play this year.
We are in our second year as a tier 2 team and actually in our first year of Coach watson's system.. Half veterans, half rookies.  When Corvallis chose to re-adjust it's team this year it sent a reverberation throught the IWFL west schedule..

The missing Corvallis games were replaced by 3 games vs the undefeated Sacramento Sirens a 10 year, veteran-tier 1 team who very well could be on their way to the BIG Game in Round Rock Texas this Summer.. The California Quake, a major team..  What a learning year it's been for our ladies.

With the Massey system in place it adjusts a certain weight to our stats and our numbers, because we are a little team taking on these big teams, doing some decent numbers regardless of final score.. We get a little more credit and all indications tell us the Maniax are building something special in Modesto..

We hope to play the Bandits, in the IWFL playoffs. We feel they are way more than a tier two team.  Goodwin noted, most of the Bandits team is made up of the two or three year removed team that was in Oakland.  They were a tier 1 organization with 6 years of playing together. A lot of the Bandit team was on that Oakland team, also some members of former team in San Francisco..

Tracy Adams used to play in Oakland  with Teresa Kidd, they moved to our area and had ended their play.. Tracy told us this was her old team..   This past Saturday, it was like an old family reunion with Kidd, Adams, and that crew from Fremont..
Tier 2?  The Maniax will keep on, keepin on, in expectation of a playoff berth for 2010

We'll play 'em for 4 qtrs thats for sure..
