Quake Rocks The Maniax!

May 09, 2010 By AG
The Maniax held their head high, and ventured into another game against an IWFL Tier 1 team on Saturday Night. The score shows the way the game went for the Modesto start-up, a small, tier 2 team...  64-0 In favor of the Quake.  the Maniax were scoreless in four quarters of play.

Owner, Aaron Goodwin commented from the home office on Sunday, "When the Corvallis team decided to re-align this year, it caused a massive schedule change, domino effect, forcing the Maniax into a bit of a different schedule including 3 games vs the undefeated tier 1 Sirens of Sacramento..  Going down to Downey last night to play the Quake was a scheduled game that we knew was coming and we knew Coach Penn's team would come to play.  We are just outsized and frankly out of our tier placement as far as opponents of the same caliber as the Maniax..

We should be playing Corvallis 3 times this year instead we get the Best in the West for 3 games and nothing but the Biggies..  It just gives us more to build on and we will do so..  It is a long road to learning, when you are taking zeroes and playing your hearts out to no avail. It is a sort of mis-match for us this year..  We will not let that stop us, we will go on and fight to be the best we can, with the hand we have been dealt."

Speaking on Saturday Night's game, Goodwin continued, "numerous Maniax were hurt in the game last night vs the 4-1 Quake.  Wears, Warda, Crandall, Selby all taking injuries last night at the hands of the Downey team..  "We were out gunned last night, we'll fight on and get some ice on those girls injuries.. That's all we can do it's football!" The Crowd in Downey was great. Congrats to them and and on their mission to the playoffs."
