February 28, 2010 By MM
Some coaches would call it walking practice, any good pr person would call it "getting in front of people". On Saturday the 27th of February, The Maniax marched for the annual falling of the Almond Blossoms. It is the talk of the town for the parade and festival/carnival.. "It's been going on for years, and any time we can spread the Maniax-IWFL message we try to do so." said Dineen Goodwin from Ripon on Saturday.
The looks on some peoples faces when they see women underneath those helmets is priceless said an anonymous passer by. Aaron Goodwin Owner of the Maniax warns people along the line of the parade by megaphone along with a pa system spreading the love of modern music and MAXXY to the crowd via dance and public message. "Don't look em in the eye, they're Maniax.! Some women in the crowd would call our girls just that, maniacs!
Goodwin said, "Some laugh, some see we are a serious thing. I think anyone that has played football can tell you, that it is no fun, in a helmet. Even if you're only task in that helmet, is walking down the street.. That in itself, not counting the 4 months of night practices through the winter shows the exact committment these gals make to play Full contact football.
