Practice Numbers are Great

January 16, 2010 By MM
Starting at 50+ team members last year, the Maniax ended their past season with the team count in the low 20's.. Mix that with the lack of teaching, the lack of discipline, and injuries soon plagued the IWFL's newest 2009 team the Maniax of Modesto.

Coach Jeff Watson said Thursday from the practice field.  "We've hopefully fixed both of those things..  20+ Maniax player vets, and rookies were in our 60 day pre-season weight program, by the time February rolls around and we get into pads these girls will be in tip top condition and hopefully past some of the reasons we fill they were hurt in the first place last year.".

"There was no strength training, or discipline, being taught along with the basics, last year and this year the attendance numbers are very good and the progam is real.. If we can keep it this way til April, there is no doubt the Maniax will win some games.. said Dineen Goodwin, Maniax center, and Owner stated Friday from the Maniax home office.

Our message to all of the Maniax players.. Make the 4 nights of practice weekly, religously, and we will have us a great 2010. the old addage says, hard work does pay off, this reporter is already seeing a marked difference in the 2010 Maniax..
