The IWFL's Modesto Maniax Women's Tackle Football Team invite you to show us your talent! On February 15th, The Modesto Maniax will hold an open audition seeking possible performers for halftime at our 2010 Home Football Games. Selected individuals/groups will have an opportunity to perform for 3-5 minutes, All varieties of acts from our communitiy are welcome to try out. We ask that performances not contain any singing or speaking elements. Past halftime shows have included break dancers, hip hop dancers, and martial arts demonstrations. We are looking for similar types of acts and more! Every individual/group should plan on wearing any costumes at the tryouts used in their live performances. If your routine requires music please bring it in CD format and a sound system will be provided. Acts must be family friendly and should be in good taste; this includes both the act itself, and the attire worn during the performance.
All performance group members will receive 2 admission tickets to the any Maniax Home Game in the 2010 Season. Discounted tickets may be available for family and friends, if you are picked to entertain. All ticket offers are subject to availability.
The auditions will be held on March 6th, 10a to 12:00 p.m. with location to be announced. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until all spaces are full, or 12:00 noon on March 5th. If you cannot attend the tryout, but would still like an opportunity to perform at a Maniax event, contact DIneen to submit a DVD or video tape of your act.
The IWFL, iwflsports.com is focused on creating a positive, safe and fun environment for the women who play the game and fans that come out to watch. Founded in 2000. The IWFL has over 1600 women playing the sport for 60+ teams across North America. from Southern California to Washington to New york and Florida with consistent expansion into new markets like Modesto this past year.
The IWFL allows all women the opportunity to play tackle football. The IWFL also allows women and men alike the opportunity to coach, manage and even own a sports team. “Our focus is on providing opportunities for women to play this sport while providing exciting and progressive entertainment for the public. This league was started with player safety, community service, honesty, and integrity in mind.
